FIFA President Gianni Infantino now says that the International governing body will ask every country in the world to name a stadium after the late Pele who died on 29th December 2022 at the age of 82.

Infantino, who was speaking to reporters at Pele’s funeral in Brazil, revealed that FIFA plans to remember the three time world Cup winner.

“We are going to ask every country in the world to name one of their football stadiums with the name of Pele,” he was quoted.

He said such a move would ensure Pele is never forgotten.

The Legendary Brazilian footballer died at Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo following a long battle with cancer.

Daughter’s Emotional Tribute

His daughter Kely Nascimento took to Instagram to post a tribute to her father, accompanied by a photo of family members holding his hand as he rested in a hospital bed.

“Everything we are in thanks to you, we love you infinitely. Rest in peace,” She wrote.

Known as the “King of football”, Pele’s exploits on the pitch were legendary 1,281 goals in official matches.

His achievements have been recognized by National and International organizations, with him being awarded the Ballon d’Or, Europe’s most prestigious football award.
