Former Commonwealth Champion Filomena Cheyech will lead the Kenyan team that will take part in the inaugural Commonwealth half marathon set to be held this Sunday in Cardiff, Wales.
The Kenyan contingent includes 2017 Cardiff half marathon champion John Lotiang, Joseph Nzioki and Daniel Muteti.
Uganda remains Kenya’s biggest challenger in the half marathon race. Leading the Uganda delegation will be former mountain running world champion Fred Musobu, 2017 Ugandan 10,000 metres champion Timothy Toroitich, Felix Chemonges and Vitalis Kwemoi.
Over 50 countries and regions are expected to compete, including Australia, Canada, South Africa and Nigeria.

The event is open to countries that were former colonies of Britain.
