The downside of owning these prized possessions is that you have to be extremely keen on how you handle them to protect them. To increase their shelf life, here are some tricks you need to have up your sleeve
Avoid cooking acidic foods
Anything that has acid is corrosive. When you use your non-stick kitchenware to cook them, you will notice that over time, your utensil will begin to wear off. The coating will wear off and the functionality won’t be as effective as it was when it was brand new.
Heat it correctly
Based on the manuals, most of these kitchenware is best at low heat and medium heat. When you expose them to extremely high temperatures, they tend to behave as if they have a lighter coating. As a result, you’ll realize that your food burns instead of cooking.
Avoid using metal cooking spoons
When you use a metal spoon to scrap or mix a broth in the non-stick ware, you’ll realize that you’re scratching onto the utensil. You’re, therefore, ruining the coating and turning it from nonstick to extremely sticky.

Use a proper cleaning method
Proper cleaning should be done if you want to avoid making replacements every month. Use warm water that has soap and clean gently with a sponge.
Avoid scrubbing at all costs so as to protect the upper coat. Be sure to drain, and dry your ware.
Avoid using commercial spray
Commercial sprays have some compounds which don’t auger so well with the non-stick kitchen ware. They tend to corrode the utensils. As a result, your utensils will look like they have been bleached out.
Storage
Practice the art off proper storage at all times. Store your well cleaned and dried utensil in a hanging manner, being sure that they don’t hit one another.
