Those few days that a woman menstruates seem like a century.
The symptoms seem to be lasting forever and a heavy flow to top it up is the last thing you would wish for. While exercising leads to increase in your period flow, there are also foods that do the same.
If you do not want a heavy flow, try and avoid these foods:
1. Chocolate
This sweet and addictive snack has the ability to normalize many menstrual related problems. It helps with normalizing irregular periods and regulates the flow of blood during your periods. If you have scanty periods, just grab a bar and you will have your flow. However, if you don’t wish to have a heavy flow, keep off.

2. Beetroot juice
Beetroots are rich in Iron, Potassium, Vitamin C among many other nutrients that are great for your body. Drinking beetroot juice more often increases the flow of blood in your body as well as your period flow.
3. Jaggery
The high contents of Iron in jaggery triggers your blood flow during periods hence a heavier flow. If you are craving something sweet, remove jaggery from your list.
4. Pineapple
Unexpected, yeah? Well, pineapples increase the production of red and white blood cells which in return leads to an overall increase in blood flow. So, go slow on pineapples when you are on your periods.
Besides foods, other things that increase you period flow include; weight fluctuations, stress, and birth control methods.
All in all, if you have been receiving scanty periods and would love to get a heavier flow, just stack up more on the above foods.
