Four police officers accused of attempting to steal Ksh. 2 Million from a man in Nairobi will remain in police custody for one day to enable investigating officers finalize investigations.
Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Bernard Ochoi says that the suspects are likely to interfere with the witnesses.
“The complainant business premises is known to the accused persons and chances are they will interfere with investigations,” said Ochoi.
According to the prosecution, the suspects who introduced themselves as police officers had demanded a bribe from the victims on their way to the DCI during the purported arrest.
Ochoi directed that they remain in custody for a day to enable the investigating officer to finish investigations.
The four were arrested in a botched robbery mission.
The suspects are Daniel Wambua, Eliud Kipkirui, Nicholas Murira and Stanley Gitonga.
The suspects are detained at Captol Hill police station.
The matter will be mentioned on 13th January 2023 to confirm the progress of investigations.
