Garissa Town Member of Parliament Aden Duale has hinted at retiring from politics if Deputy President William Ruto assumes power in the 2022 General Election.

The Leader of Majority in the National Assembly who is a die-hard Ruto supporter revealed he will be ready to hang his political boots in the event his close friend becomes president.

According to a video by Citizen TV on Monday, December 30, seen by TUKO.co.ke, the vocal lawmaker said he would be available to provide counsel to Ruto if need be.

“Huyo hustler akiingia mimi ata nikiwa mtu wa kunywa chai hapo ikulu kama mzee wa mtaa ni sawa ( If the hustler becomes president, I will not mind drinking evening tea with him as an advisor),” he said.

“I do not want to die a politician, it is the worst death. In politics it is good to leave when people still love you. I have left a legacy in my constituency.”

Duale said Jubilee is the party to watch for the next 50 years and might break KANU’s record 40-year rule.

“Jubilee is a party to watch in the next 50 years, the people you see now most of them are first timers; they are toddlers, they are still wearing political napkins,” he said.
