Stihl Group,a German-based firm has opened its East African hub in Kenya with to enable it provide services to its clients within the region.
The company deals in the distribution of outdoor power equipment for forestry, agriculture, landscaping and construction. Kenya became the second African country to host the firm after it first set roots in South Africa in 1996.
According to the company’s chief executive officer for the East African hub Francois Marais “ Kenya is a gateway to the region’s market.He noted that Kenya will be a distribution market for its products to other EAC member states and their neighbours.
Marais, said that the Kenyan market has proved to be vital in the region’s economic development and the company will use the opportunity to tap into the new EAC member state Democratic Republic of Congo’s economy.
. “We plan to distribute our products from Kenya to other East African states, including Uganda, Tanzania, DRC, Rwanda, and Burundi among others. We are also considering DRC and all our representatives will be on the ground,” said Marais as reported by Capital Business.
According to Marais , the company moved talent in Kenya due to its local talent that will enable it it to expand the company’s business.
