Kenya’s leading media station – Ghetto Radio in conjunction with giant beer maker EABL brought Nakuru to a stop during the Saturday 10th Chrome Activation Extravaganza held at the Nakuru Athletics Club.
It kicked off on Friday 9th at noon with roadshows covering Nakuru neighborhood’s from Menengai, Heshima, Maili sita, Kiamunyi, Kawangware Kaptembwo and Barnabas just to mention but a few.
Dancer’s from Nakuru’s finest dance troupe – Airmax Dance Crew,Chrome’s in house Dj, Dj Maddz alongside Ghetto Radio’s Presenter Bonoko and Dj Katta put their A game forward in provision of entertainment.
It was fun filled with lots of giveaways going out to winners from event tickets, branded chrome merchandise such as caps,t. Shirts,Shopping bags and dust coats just to mention but a few.
The caravan comprised of souped up matatu’s commonly known as Nganya’s fitted with powerful sound system and an in house deskman. In addition there was a mini bar complete with a mixologist doing magics with Chrome brands chrome gin and chrome vodka.Chrome lovers got to sample a taste of different flavors.
Partygoers were also treated to a lifetime event as they got to enjoy a free ride on the souped up mathreez to the event’s venue.The entrance fee was also pocket friendly, With 250 one also got a free bottle of Chrome.
A large number of the revelers comprised of university students from Egerton and Kabarak university’s.
The climax of the event was the performances from the star studded entertainers. Leading the pack was Africa’s Top Female Rapper Femi One who also introduced Afro soul Singers Jadi in her set,Ndovu Kuu, Ssaru Wa Manyaru,TK Lyon also showed what they’re made of. Hypeman Gudah was in charge of keeping the crowd syked up and truly he didn’t disappoint.Closing the curtains in the wee hours of the morning were Chrome’s ambassadors Bensoul and Nviiri who took turns in belting out their favorite tunes.
Also present was Ghetto Radio’s sales executive, Stephen Maina and honcho Majimaji who took his time and encouraged revelers to keep on pushing in realization of their dreams as advocated by Chrome’s mantra ‘Street Filosofia’.
Despite a robbery incident which was witnessed at Pondamali during the day’s roadshow and a few discipline incidences which were carefully taken care of, the event was truly a success.
