Governor Natembeya promise to boost fish business in Kitale

KITALE, Kenya, Mar 6 – Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has pledged to boost fish business in Kitale town through establishment of a modern fish market.

Natembeya made the promise when he visited fish food kiosks at Jua Kali area, not far from the County headquarters offices, where he joined workers majorly from the informal sector for lunch.

“I understand traders in the fish industry are operating under harsh conditions. However, soon they are going to have a modern fish market, complete with stalls at a designated place within Kitale town,” said Natembeya who tasked trade department with the mandate of ensuring the directive was implemented.

The county boss reiterated his determination toward realising better working conditions for traders in the County.

“I  therefore challenge you to take advantage of the initiatives we are putting in place, including the affordable credit Nawiri Fund, whose main goal is to boost business ventures,” he added .

The Governor assured the public that revenue collected by his administration will be prudently utilised, especially on infrastructural projects and programmes across the sectors.
