In their defense, the respondents through their lawyer Jefferson Museve had wanted the court to adjourn the case to allow the family to mourn the demise of their mother.
Governor Nyongo and the sister Risper Nyongo were facing contempt of court case after they failed to comply with court orders that had ruled that they include two of their nephews Geoffrey Omondi and Kennedy Odhiambo as administrators of their father’s vast estate.
The court also directed that Nyongo and the sister open a new account which will hold all the proceeds from any transactions on the family land, directives that the defense lawyers say are yet to be complied with.
