Three senior county employees have been sacked by Governor Fahim Twaha over what is being described as merging of ministries and departments.
The affected staffers are Mohamed Badawy (Water), Julius Okindo (Agriculture) and Simon Komu, who is in charge of the fisheries department.
In the changes, the Water ministry has been merged with that of Agriculture and Irrigation and will now be headed by Faridah Hassan.
According to letters seen by The Standard, the chief officers were relieved of their duties on Friday, but the matter only became public on Tuesday.
Sources in the county government said the sacked employees were called one by one to pick their termination letters from the administration offices.
Mr Twaha had held a closed-door meeting with top county officials, including the deputy governor, executive members and chief officers, before the three workers were sent packing.
Mr Okindo once served as the Head of Public Service before he was moved to the Agriculture docket.
