It will be a triple celebration for deputy president William Ruto as he graduates at the University of Nairobi with a PhD on Friday, December 20.
Ruto will be graduating after defending his thesis on the ‘Influence of Anthropogenic Activities on Land Use in Western Kenya’.
He defended his thesis at the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Nairobi.
The DP will graduate alongside 9,000 other graduands at the UoN square beginning 7:30 am.
It is on this same day that Ruto will celebrate his birthday as he was born on December 21, 1966 in Sambut village, Kamagut, Uasin Gishu to Daniel Cheruiyot and Sarah Cheruiyot.
On the same day in 1991, Ruto married Rachel.
Ruto will be turning 52.
Ruto who calls himself hustler will officially earn the title ‘doctor’ after pursuing the doctorate since 2012.
Philomena Mwilu, the Deputy Chief Justice, Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa and Meru Senator Mithika Linturi will also be conferred with masters of law.
