A GSU Officer has been arrested in connection with the murder of his colleague at the Wilson Airport one week ago.
Constable Samson Morongo was arrested after investigations established that he shot dead his colleague Stephen Mkangi at the Wilson watch tower.
Police investigations state that Morongo tried to cover up the incident by framing the murder on unknown assailants.
“Upon carrying out Forensic Analysis,#DCI Detectives were able to connect the officer to the murder-the suspect’s clothes were subjected to Gunshot Residue Test at the Government Chemist and it tested positive hence placing the suspect in very close proximity to the shooting scene,” said the police.
After killing his colleague, Morongo then went ahead to make a report that they had been attacked by unknown people-who killed his colleague and took their firearms.
The said incident took place on 27/7/2019 at Wilson Airport where the Two GSU officers were carrying out guard duties.
“Forensic investigations by the DCI have ruled that theory out & proved that it was Homicide.
