Lunyangapuo witnessed fast hand what residents are going through after his convey got stuck at the dilapidated Kapsait –Kapsangar –Sekution road alongside Kenya Red cross Secretary General Dr Aisha Mohammed.

The two were heading to Nyarkulian area in Pokot South Sub County to resettle families that were affected by landslides late last year.

Governor Lonyangapuo was forced to alight and walk for several kilometers as he waited for an excavator to clear the affected section of the road which is under construction.

The Governor says residents in areas affected by floods are starving since the County Government and the Red Cross can’t access the areas.

And with heavy rains expected to continue in some parts of the Country, Lunyangapuo called on those living in flood prone areas to move to higher grounds for their own safety.

An area resident also called on the Government to intervene saying the way things are, they will not harvest anything from their farms and will now need donations from the Government.

Losiareng said dairy farmers in the region are forced to use donkeys to transport their milk to cooling plants kilometers away.

Over 300 farmers and business people in the area are now counting huge losses after  the road  was rendered impassable following the heavy down pour.
