Homa Bay county Transport Executive committee member Phillemon Donny Opar was yesterday night shot dead by unknown people.
Confirming the incident, Rachuonyo North Police boss Nelson Ojuok said the newly appointed CEC was shot by unknown gunmen at Big 5 Hotel in Kendu Bay.
It is reported that the CEC was reviewing the day’s activities at a petrol station when he met his assailants.
Donny Opar was appointed to head the Roads, Transport and Infrastructure Department in February 2019 after the governor Cyprian Awiti made changes in his cabinet.
