In April 2019, Huawei revealed a list of devices that will receive updates to EMUI 9.1, but back then, there was no word on the official release dates. Today, we have these details with us, but only for select Huawei devices, including several in the budget Y series.
According to the official announcement (via Reddit), EMUI 9.1 update is expected this June 2019 on Huawei P20 Lite, Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and the Mate 20 RS Porsche Design. If anything, it means these devices should receive the update this week.
In fact, the P20 Lite started receiving the EMUI 9.1 update a couple of weeks ago. The update is huge weighing in at 3.34GB, but this is probably because it includes Android 9 Pie.
In July 2019, the EMUI 9.1 update will head to the following devices in no particular order:
- Huawei P20/P20 Pro
- Huawei Nova 3/Nova 3i
- Huawei P30 Lite
- Huawei Mate 10/Mate 10 Pro
- Huawei Mate 10 RS Porsche Design
- Huawei Mate 9/Mate 9 Pro
- Huawei Y9 2019
- Huawei Y6 Pro 2019
- Huawei Y5 2019
In August 2019, the EMUI 9.1 update will be made available for those using the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus, with the rest to follow thereafter. As for what EMUI 9.1 brings, check out this page.
Huawei is also expected to update some of its devices to Android Q in the coming months, which should come with an updated EMUI 10.
