The world may be locked down but guess what can’t stay locked down?

Huawei’s 2020 flagship smartphone is set to be revealed on March 26th at an event broadcast online starting from 4PM East African time.

As is the tradition every time Huawei is launching either a P or Mate (save for the foldables) series device, its two premium smartphone segments, we can also expect to see the company take the wraps off a new version of its software overlay, EMUI.

Hot on the heels of EMUI 10 which the Chinese company launched last year and has been rolling out to its devices ever since as part of its Android 10 upgrade, will be EMUI 10.1

While details of what users can expect in the new version of EMUI are scanty, there are the usual expectations: some few visual touches, improvements to its ARK compiler as it seeks to offer more and more apps and services through its own platform and not Google’s, improvements to the GPU Turbo as well as even faster speeds thanks to improvements in the file system it has adopted (EROFS).

Last week, news of the various devices that are in line to receive their upgrade to EMUI 10.1 after the P40 series leaked revealing a host of devices – all the Mate 30, Mate 20 and P20 series smartphones for the premium lineup and select members of the Nova and Y series.
