NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 30 – Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu now claims she is a victim of the victimization of women leaders in the country.
This comes days after she was summoned to appear before the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Disciplinary Committee following her much-publicized scuffle with Mugithi singer Samidoh and his wife during a concert in Dubai.
“I am a recent victim. But we have to stand firm in our space with no apologies and we are here to stay. We will not be victimized anytime we do any less than what our male counterparts do,” she said.
She made the remarks as part of her contribution after the Senate dismissed impeachment charges leveled against Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.
Nyamu stated that the matter of First Gentleman is going to be a normal occurrence in this country going forward because a lot of women have ambitions to serve in leadership posts at the gubernatorial and presidency.
“The matter of First Gentleman is going to be a normal occurrence in this country going forward because a lot of us have ambitions to be governors in this country. Our spouses should not be victimized,” she stated.
