A reformed Nairobi criminal has revealed disturbing details about his dark past.
Speaking in an interview with KTN, Boniface Kimanyano opened up about how he worked in a criminal group that used to hunt women before chopping off their body parts for sale.
Kimanyano said the gang would mostly lure commercial sex workers along Koinange Street in Nairobi before severing their breasts.
“We would roam around various corners of the city picking women and chopping off their breasts for money,” Kimanyano said.
“We lured the women into our trap before cutting off their breasts and selling them,” he added.
Kimanyano, who worked in the criminal group for two years, said they would drug the women before harvesting their breasts.
“We used some chemical, ‘flexor’ that made women sleep, then we would descend on them,” he explained.
Kimanyano revealed they would then take the body parts to sellers at a spot in Jee Vanjee gardens in Nairobi CBD.
“There are these people who gave us orders, and according to them, this was a booming business. Ours was to simply get the breasts, and take them to a spot at Jee Vanjee gardens where the ‘body brokers’ picked them,” he said.
He said the parts were being sold at between Sh100,000 and Sh120, 000 depending on the size.
“The bigger the better and we were paid depending on the size,” he notes.
Kimanyano explained that he developed a feeling that he was hurting women following an incident where they cut off the breasts of three ladies. He said they used to take drugs to find the courage to chop off the body parts.
“After taking ‘blue Mercedes drugs’ or red devils pills, you could do anything.”
Kimanyano said members of the gang were arrested and charged for colluding with hospitals to trade in private parts and other body organs. This was months after he ditched the trade.
“They resorted to getting organs from hospitals and mortuaries after it became difficult to lure women into their traps.”
“Most of my colleagues were arrested in 2016 when the news was all over that there was an ongoing sale of private parts in city hospitals,” he said.
