IEBC says 200 KIEMS kit have failed to work so far

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) shrugged off allegation of mass failure of KIEMS kits at polling stations across the country.

IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya said only 200 KIEMS kits have failed to work since voting begun at 6AM in all the 46,229 polling stations.

“What we have received so far and addressed is about 200 failure of KIEMS kit out of 46, 229. It is not widespread. technology is prone to breakdown and when they do we have an alternative how we need to address that which we have already done,” said Nyang’aya.

According to Nyang’aya, the failure is a normal thing and expects at least 10 more kits to have technical difficulties.
