Tuesday was Hussein Mohamed’s last night as a news anchor for Kenya’s top television station Citizen TV.

During the news bulletin at 9pm, his colleagues were beamed live bidding him goodbye and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
“Unakumbuka tukianza mbali sana na wewe. When I was an intern, you used to drop me home, buy me pizza and make sure niko sawa.
“Wewe ndio ulicontribute kwa kuniongeza kilo. As you leave we wish you all the best. Keep shining and keep loving rock music and Musa Juma international,” Willis Raburu said.

Sam Gituku noted that Hussein is a top journalist because of his integrity, objectivity and always doing research on a topic before an interview.
Francis Gachuri, a senior political reporter, affirmed Hussein’s reputation as a thorough professional.
Interestingly, Mike Okinyi noted that Hussein Mohamed who is known for his political interviews ‘aliponyoka sports desk’.
“Your star just rose from there. We knew you were destined for greatness and that is exactly what you have proven to us. We talked about you being a product of your won choice. You chose to be great and you are a great person. All we can do is wish you the best in all your endeavors,” Okinyo said.
Others described him as a cheerful person even as they expressed a sense of loss with the announcement of his exit from Royal Media Services after 10 years of service.
