Infinix has taken the wraps off one of its most successful smartphone lineups, the Smart series. The entry-level series will, over the next few months, be headlined by the newly-announced Infinix Smart 7.
The Infinix Smart 7 has already been confirmed for the Indian market where sales begin in 5 days’ time.
The smartphone is priced at INR 7,299 which is the equivalent of about Kshs 11,000 as per the exchange rates at the time of publication.
The Infinix Smart 7’s predecessor, the Smart 6, is available across the country at about a similar starting price. Infinix is selling it for Kshs 13,000 on its Xpark e-commerce store (mind you, that’s the 32GB variant with 2GB RAM) so this should give us a pointer of what to expect when it comes to the Smart 7’s local pricing.
That gives one a 6.6-inch HD+ IPS LCD display, a Unisoc SC9863A1 chipset, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, a 5-megapixel selfie camera, a 13-megapixel camera at the back that is backed by a 0.3-megapixel depth sensor and a 6,000mAh battery.
The Infinix Smart 7 runs on XOS 12 which is Infinix’s idea of Android 12. This is so because of the Infinix Smart 7’s upgraded internals which finally pull it out from within Android Go territory. Its predecessor runs on the Go edition of Android 11.
The device comes in Azure Blye, Emerald Green, and Night Black colour options.
That said, when do we get to see it in Kenya?
At the moment, that is not something we know but, if the hints that Infinix is throwing are anything to go by, we will not be waiting for long to find out.
This year, mambo ni mengi. The new Smart 7 is coming soon. Gear up for the best features ever in our Smart Series. Guess three unique features it comes with & stand a chance to win a hamper.#SmartikaNaPower #Smart7 pic.twitter.com/QSwlzx6Kjf
