Infinix has taken the wraps of its 2023 flagship smartphone, the Infinix Zero 30 5G.
The smartphone, which features a 50-megapixel front-facing camera that can shoot video up to 4K at 60 frames per second, is being touted as a game-changer in front-camera vlogging.
And Infinix chose just the right place to unveil it: the Venice International Film Festival in, well, Venice, Italy.
At the back is a 108-megapixel camera sensor that combines both electronic image stabilization (EIS) and optical image stabilization (OIS) to ensure stable capturing of both videos and photos. Like its selfie counterpart, it can also record videos up to 4K at 60fps.
The smartphone’s 6.78-inch display, which arrives in a sleek compact body, in addition to its beautiful cuve, steals the show with its 144Hz peak refresh rate, a notch higher than the 120Hz that we are used to seeing on premium devices. Infinix says that the 10-bit AMOLED display is very colour-accurate, has a peak brightness of 950 nits and a 10,000,000:1 contrast ratio.
Underneath is a Dimensity 8020 chipset from MediaTek to handle the demands of the aforementioned 4K video recording at 60fps as well as the 5G network chops. There’s also 12GB RAM, expandable all the way to 21GB on-demand using some of that expansive 256GB onboard storage which removes the need for a microSD card.
On the software front, XOS, Infinix’s custom Android overlay, has undergone a massive redesign and no longer feels like the software that we have decried for ages. Folax, Infinix’s own voice assistant, is said to have undergone some upgrade and is now powered by ChatGPT.
A dual-speaker setup takes care of the immersive stereo sound one can expect on a device of this calibre while 68W fast-charging makes sure that the 5,000mAh battery that powers up everything gets juiced up in no time. Oh, and there’s IP53 water and dust resistance as well.
The Infinix Zero 30 5G comes in a choice of Golden Hour, Rome Green and Fantasy Purple colour options.
