Social Media influencer; Andrew Tate’s luxurious villa in Romania has been raided by authorities and a fleet of his luxurious cars were seized by the officials on charges that Andrew and his brother Tristan Tate were allegedly running a human trafficking operation from his compound in Bucharest.
This comes only a few months after the former kick-boxer was banned from various social media sites including, Facebook, TikTok, Instagram after allegedly violating policies against hate-speech. His twitter account was however reinstated by Elon Musk after he purchased the company and became the C.E.O of Twitter.
The Tate brothers; Andrew & Tristan were detained on a 30 day hold starting 29thDecember following investigations on charges relating to human trafficking and coercion.
“Investigation are currently being carried out regarding exploiting women by forcing them to create pornographic content meant to be seen on specialized websites for a cost,” stated a statement by Romanian Police.
The police have identified 6 women as potential victims but two of them have come out publicly denying witnessing any of the allegations against the Tate brothers.
“I’ve never been threatened by them. If I had been I would not have been stupid enough to remain in that house. I have a tattoo on my left arm that says Tate-girl which I got out of respect for them,” said one of the women in an interview with the BBC.
Andrew Tate’s detainment has been met with mixed reactions on social media with some people advocating for his release while others await the compilation of evidence to substantiate the allegations against them.
