Kenyans  are not new to Deputy President William Ruto continues use of unpalatable words to describe Opposition leader Raila Odinga as conman and liar out to wreck the Jubilee Party.

We can authoritatively report that Ruto’s fears were fuelled after a secret power arrangement Raila is crafting once the country holds a referendum on BBI. The ODM leader has insisted that a referendum vote is unstoppable and asked politicians opposed to the plebiscite to keep off and let Kenyans determine their destiny.

According to highly placed sources, Raila has crafted a post-Uhuru power arrangement that accommodates the interests of Mount Kenya region in his government. To start with, the DP knows too well that to win the presidency he must get over 85 percent of votes from Mount Kenya region.

Mudavadi and Uhuru

However, the vote-rich block is unreliable as the DP has of late discovered going by the number of governors, senators and mps that have been deserting him due to pressure of powerful faces surrounding president Uhuru Kenyatta.

Besides pushing for the creation of a prime minister’s post that Raila will dish out to the populous Kikuyu community, the ODM leader plans to have a slice of votes from the Kalenjin community.

Besides, the plan also accommodates the interests of the Luhya, Luo, Kamba, Coastal and other communities considered as marginalised.

The positions reserved for smaller communities include Speakers of Parliament, top judicial officers and police bosses.

Ruto’s anger emanated from suspicion that Uhuru has indirectly endorsed Raila’s 2022 game plan where Jubilee, ODM, Wiper, Kanu, MCC and other likeminded parties will collapse to form the Jubilee National Coalition which will be Raila’s vehicle for the presidency.

Ruto current wars with Machakos governor Alfred Mutua is due to the said power plot.

Mutua

Mutua has accused Ruto of threatening him with unspecified consequences over his anti-Ruto presidency camapigns.

According to Mutua, the deputy president made the threats against his life on two separate occasions at State House, Nairobi.

But the governor stated that he informed Raila Odinga as well as four other senior government officials about the incident.
