Interviews to pick new NPSC boss start

Former Speaker of the National Assembly Kenneth Marende has been interviewed for the position of the chairperson of the National Police Service Commission (NPSC). 

Mr Marende is among 10 applicants who were shortlisted for the position after the six-year term of Johnston Kavuludi ended last year. 

NPSC is seeking to fill the position of the chairperson and other commissioners. 

The interviewing panel comprises, among others, Mr Stephen Kirogo, Mr Kennedy Kihara who represents the Cabinet, Mr Stephen Kirogo from the Public Service Commission, Ms Anne Amadi from the Judiciary, Ms Kagwiria Mbogori from the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights and Ms Joyce Mwikali from the National Gender and Equality Commission.

Others who were shortlisted for the Monday interview are: Mr Elijah Kodoh, Mr Peter Nkuraiyia, Dr Zachary Mwangi, Mr Muktar Abdi Ali, Mr Eliud Kinuthia, Ms Lucy Wanja, Mr Elijah Nduati, Ms Irene Njeri Wanyoike and Ms Margaret Cheboiwo.

The interviews will go on up to Friday.​
