The father of late Otieno Kajwang, Ajwang’ Kajwang’ is begging ODM leader Raila Odinga to back his son, the current Homa Bay senator Moses Kajwang’ for Homa Bay governorship race 2022.
Raila
The family has produced current Ruaraka MP Thomas Kajwang’ and Nakuru county Kaptembwo ward MCA Peter Kajwang. Unconfirmed reports indicate the MCA is planning to run for a parliamentary seat in Nakuru county.
The elder Kajwang shocked mourners who had come to bury his wife Dorcas Ajwang’ at Waondo, Mbita, when he asked Raila to back his son for top county seat.

Speaking in parables, he said that if the Homa Bay governor will not come from among his children in 2022, he will also die.
To whip Raila and win his heart, the elder said: “Jakom, Mama ne okothoo nikech old age. Mama tuo nochako ka wuode ma Gerald othoo bange omedore sama wach treason mar TJ owuok (Jakom, Mama did not die because of old age. Dorcas fell sick when her son Gerald died. Her health later deteriorated when TJ Kajwang’ was reportedly charged with treason)” The treason case that never was was caused by TJ’s role in mock swearing in Raila as president.

Analysts say the family had coached the elder on what to say at the burial and wanted to use the occasion to introduce the senator in the governatorial race with blessings of Raila.Suprisingly, when Raila stood to speak, he ignored the remarks and decided to concentarate on BBI agenda.
Senator Kajwang’ inherited senatorship courtesy of Raila after the death of his elder brother Otieno Kajwang’. During the burial of the late senator, a move to have the current senator be backed was also started forcing Raila to back him during the by-election and 2017 election. That Raila likes Moses is well manisfeted when he recommended the senator to chair the influential senate Pac to take care and consolidate his position in South Nyanza Luo areas.On the other side, Senator James Orengo was minority leader in senate to represent the upper Luo Nyanza.Just like during the burial of his elder son, the father used the parable during the burial of Dorcas to win political sympathy.

Kajwang’ senior was careful with his words that he will only be alive past 2022 if his son Moses is given the ODM party certificate and eventually campaigned for to become the second governor of Homabay county by Raila.
The family’s decision to involve Raila has not been received well by other candidates among them, ODM national chairman and the Suba South MP John Mbadi, Homabay county ODM chairperson and MP Gladys Wanga, former Kasipul MP and 2017 runners up in the gubernatorial election Oyugi Magwanga, county secretary Ogwae and deputy governor Hamilton Orata

. Former gubernatorial aspirant Enosh Bolo is also in the race. Governor Cyprian Awiti is under pressure from a powerful cartel that has looted the county to back the county secretary so he can continue protecting them from various investigations by EACC and DCI.
To create a rift between Awiti and Orata, Ogwae claims the deputy recently put poison in a microphone Awiti was using leading to his loss of voice and admission in hospital for months. Wanga’s decision to run has seen Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo openly come to oppose and even skip events organised by Embrace Kenya which was chaired by Wanga.

Analysts say Raila may decide to back the young Kajwang as a neutral candidate to avoid the current war between his allies Wanga and Mbadi.
