Silverstone Air has temporarily suspended its flights effective Tuesday to pave way for probe into its operations.
The move comes after the grounding of its Dash 8 fleet by the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority for a week in light of safety concerns raised over the airline.
Silverstone has been in the eye of storm after two of its aircrafts were involved in successive mishaps at the Wilson and Lodwar airports.
The KCAA Director General Gilbert Kibe, however said all other models of Silverstone planes would operate normally as they await the outcome of the ongoing investigations.

On Tuesday, the airline announced that it had suspended its operations following the government’s move to suspend its Dash 8 fleet in response to two successive air mishaps involving planes owned by the airline.
“In compliance with the @KCAA_Kenya directive to suspend operations on our Dash 8 fleet, we have temporarily suspended all our scheduled services, the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft remain our highest priority” the airline tweeted.

Last month flight 5Y-IZO crashed at the Wilson Airport and on 28th October a wheel fell of a Dash 8-300 upon take-off at Lodwar airstrip.
In its submission to the MPs, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority disclosed that it had also suspended licenses of Safe Air Company and Adventures Aloft over breach of safety standards.
The two companies operate cargo and air balloon services respectively.
