Kenyan Premier League side KCB FC has acquired the services of Danson Chetambe from Bandari FC and Francis Kairo from Talanta FC ahead next season top tier campaign which begins on August 27

The duo is set to strengthen the squad after the departure of Kenyan International right-back Baraka Badi, left-back Denis Odhiambo, Reagan Otieno, Victor Omondi, Captain Simon Abuko, and Robinson Kamura in the current transfer window.

During a training session at the Ruaraka Sports Club, KCB FC head coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno called out the football transition committee over uncertainty surrounding the start of the 2022/23 KPL season.

“As a team, we are currently in the pre-season phase for the start of the new season but it has become increasingly difficult to prepare for we do not know when the season will begin and the fixtures are not yet out yet. In the meantime, we shall work on strengthening the squad to be ready for the games as and when advised.”

The Bankers finished 7th in the 2021/22 season after garnering 49 Points. Midfielder Danson Chetambe said that he has set his sights on enabling KCB FC to lift its maiden Kenya Premier League title.

“I am elated to join this progressive squad and a club with a rich history in the Kenya Premier League. I am here to fight for the badge and help KCB stamp its authority as a leading team,” Said the former Bandari player Chetambe.

The FKF transition committee is set to meet representatives of FKF Premier League clubs next week for a review of the previous season and areas to be strengthened to make the local top flight one of the best leagues in the continent.

This weekend on Saturday, Wazito FC will host Murang’a Seal during the first leg of promotion play-off whose return fixture will be played three days later at the St Sebastian Park.
