Kenya names Victoria Cup squad as Zimbabwe visit

KCB RFC’s Vincent Onyala is in the Kenya Simbas squad that will face Zimbabwe during this weekend’s Victoria Cup clash at the Nakuru Athletic Club Grounds, Nakuru.

Onyala was crowned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the just-concluded National Sevens Series and head coach Paul Odera will hope the versatile winger carries his sensational form into the national team.

The Resolution Impala Saracens scrum-half Samson Onsomu will captain the team assisted by Strathmore Leos number 8 Elkeans Musonye and Kenya Harlequins lock Malcolm Onsando.

Joshua Chisanga makes a come back to the squad after missing most part of the season and will play at the flank alongside Menengai cream Homeboyz’s Emmanuel Mavala.

Chipu U20 Ian Njenga and Kenya Harlequins Melvin Thairu will be Simba’s props while Timothy Okwemba, Geoffrey Okwach, and Antony Odhiambo will play as back three.

The reserves include: Frank Mutuku, Elisha Koronya, Ian  Masheti, Brian Juma, Samuel Were, Barry Robinson, Tony Omondi and Michael Kimwele.
