Allan Wanga left for Egypt to support Harambee Stars Ahead of Kenya’s second group C game against Tanzania in the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Kenya squares off against Taifa Stars on Thursday, June 27, at the 30 June Stadium, and Wanga arrived in Egypt on time to hopefully witness his comrades defeat their East African neighbours.
Wanga proudly wore his number 11 Harambee Stars jersey in preparation to cheer his team onward to victory in the must-win encounter.
“Let’s get this Kenya,” Wanga wrote alongside #Tunaweza.
Wanga was initially part of Sebastien Mignes 30-man provisional squad following an impressive 2018/19 season in the Kenyan Premier League — falling one goal shy of winning the golden boot.
“I hope Kenya wins that match because we have the capacity to do so,” the Kakamega Homeboys forward said.
He was eventually dropped when the team was cut to 23 and some Kenyans were appalled by the decision, feeling Wanga was deserving of a place owing to his top form and experience.
TUKO.co.ke previously reported that Harambee Stars’ hopes of springing a surprise in Egypt were dashed on the evening of Sunday, June 24, after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Algeria.
Stars, who were making a return to the competition after a 15-year absence, struggled through the match as they made glaring defensive errors.
