Customers to strictly board motorbikes at the stage
Bodaboda riders from Kibera sub-County have today given appropriate directions to the residents in the area.
Speaking to Ghetto Radio exclusively today, the riders asked their bosses not to give minors and those people without licenses motorbikes to ride.
George Orodi Chairman Boda boda operators in Kibra says that the move will help curb accidents and also bring order in the area.
” These minors with motorbikes are the ones causing accidents on these roads,” said Orodi.
“Hence we are giving strict rules to owners of motorbikes that they should not give minors these machines,” he said.
The law requires all bodaboda operators to have valid driving licenses from approved driving schools.
“Anyone who wants to go on the road should prove that they have attained a required age and they have a valid driving license.”
Customers to board motorbikes at the stage
Orodi also advised people who usually commute via motorbike to be boarding it at the stage.
This will help separate the criminal and legitimate riders.
“I would like to advise our customers to avoid those youths who run up and down on the road without a specific stage. Majority of those youths who don’t have stage are criminals. They usually rob their customers, rape and even kill and for us it will be too difficult to trace them. Incase you boarded a motorbike at a specific place you can easily go there to trace that rider who has offended you, ” he Concluded.
Currently a bodaboda license costs Ksh. 3,500.
