Former bank robber turned author John Kiriamiti has expressed disgust at the rampant low level corruption currently going on in the country.

“I was utterly shocked to find how rampant corruption had become in the country. Even a bus conductor wants to pocket money that is not his,” said Kiriamiti.
Kiriamiti says that it is his release from prison that made him see that most of the people in prison do not deserve there.
“It is is this low level corruption that made me see that the people in prison do not deserve to be there. Those who deserve to be in prison are out here frustrating people,” he said.

In the book, Kiriamiti says how he tries his luck at farming, and odd jobs in the city, but everything fails, and he finds himself on the wrong side of the law again.
But a glimmer of hope comes when he rescues a tycoon.
Kiriamiti was speaking during a Knowledge Empowerment Youth (KEY) workshop aimed at enhancing professional and leadership development for schools librarians.
Training Librarians
The workshop gathered over 46 librarians and education stakeholders from across the county for the session that will serve as steppingstone for delivery long term professional and leadership development in kenya.
KEY Head Librarian Nyakundi James Nyambane is hopeful that the librarians workshop initiative will set Kenya on the path to work towards bridging the the disparities in availability of libraries and librarians across the county.
Since 2008 KEY has been executing easily adoptable and manageable model for schools Librarians Nationwide, targeting primary and secondary schools at National and country and community level wide range of setting.
Kenya has an acute shortage of libraries. Libraries are non, existing in 98% of primary schools and secondary most high schools in the country,this has created a disproportion of knowledge gap and barriers to language and digital competence among children’s from low income families who are also disadvantage because English is nearly always their third language and they only speak it in school.
