Cutting board

A cutting board is important as it keeps your knives from going dull too soon.

The best type of cutting board is the wooden cutting board as it does not end up with many deep scratches on its surface, unlike the plastic cutting boards. However, the plastic boards are much easier to sanitize than the wooden ones.

Nonstick pan

There are certain meals that you just can’t prepare in stainless steel skillets. For the perfect omelettes and thin pancakes, for instance, you will always find yourself reaching out for a nonstick pan as nothing else will do.

For a nonstick pan, go for those with ceramic coating as some are made with PFOAs – chemicals that might be harmful to both your health and the environment.

Blender

For your soups, purees and smoothies, a blender is a must.

Pressure Cooker

A pressure cooker is your best friend when you are strapped for time.  

Other than time, pressure cookers save you energy and money as it is more energy efficient. It uses trapped steam for cooking other than losing it into the air.

With this, you end up using less energy with shorter cooking time.

Whisk

Whisks are the best for making emulsions or mixing up salad dressings or pancake batter. You also need a whisk to mix your dry ingredients also before baking.

You can consider silicone whisks do not harm your cookware, particularly the nonstick ones.

Kitchen Shears

These basic items are super useful in the kitchen. They come in handy when you need to open up packaging, snip away her stems or even when trimming fat from your meats.
