The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) invites members of the public to join in tree planting event in Nairobi.
KURA aims at planting over 1600 trees during the exercise scheduled for 21st January and which will cover Kitisuru and Spring Valley Estates.
Other key partners behind the innovative idea are State department for roads, Kenya Defense forces, Kenya Forest Service, Kitusuru residents’ association and Spring Valley residents’ association.
KURA boasts as a vibrant campaigner of tree planting under the theme ‘make our urban roads green’.
A number of roads within towns across the country have benefited from the programme.
According to KURA Director General Silas Kinoti, the agency supports tree planting in its projects and the idea is also in line with the government’s commitment to increase Kenya’s forest cover.
