A Kenyan lady is the talk of town this is after revealing that she has called off her upcoming wedding after her husband-to-be demanded she cuts off communication with the father of her young daughter.
In WhatsApp conversations that have surfaced online, the lady said that she cannot come between the relationship her daughter has with her dad.
According to the lady, her fiancé demanded that he will take care of her daughter, so there was no need to keep her baby daddy in the picture.
However, this was a deal-breaker for the lady, who said she cannot compromise on the relationship that her daughter has with her biological father, forcing her to cancel her planned wedding.
“A few days ago, I called off my engagement. That has always been my rule. I broke up with my baby daddy, but he did not break up with his child. The bond my daughter has with her dad is something I cannot compromise just to make the man I am dating feel nice,” she starts off.
In subsequent posts, she also revealed that her fiancé wanted her daughter to only meet her dad when she turned 18.
“He wanted me to change the child’s documents once we get married and have his surname instead. He wanted to take “full responsibility” for the child. Unfortunately, my child already has a father who’s fully responsible for her well-being, both financially and emotionally,” she added.
The lady identified as Yvonne has also shared a WhatsApp conversation with her fiancé in which she gives her word saying that she would not cut ties with her baby daddy.
“If you insist that you are not comfortable as I communicate with my baby daddy, then we can call-off plans,” she said in the text message.
