Leicester City vs Liverpool ended 4-0 in favour of the Reds as the table-toppers leaders move 13 points clear on the Premier League table with a match spare.

Roberto Firmino’s double, James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold all scored to give the Merseyside club a deserved win.

The Reds produced a dominant display in the first period as they created chance after chance and should have been three goals up at half time.

Salah had a clear-one-on-one opportunity with Kasper Schmeichel but after beating the Danish goalkeeper the Egyptian could not steer his shot into the back of the net.

Schmeichel made a brilliant stop on another clear-cut chance from Sadio Mane as Liverpool kept asking Leicester questions.

And they finally got an answer in the 31st minute as Firmino headed home a perfect-inch cross from Alexander-Arnold to make it 1-0.

Jurgen Klopp’s side took a slender lead into the break as Brendan Rodgers men did not have a single shot on target in the first half.

Firmino should have made it 2-0 in the 55th minute but he could not get the right contact from an Andy Robertson’s cross.

Liverpool were awarded a penalty in the 70th minute after Caglar Soyuncu handled the ball inside the penalty area and Milner stepped up to convert the resulting spot-kick to make it 2-0.

Four minutes later it was 3-0 as Alexander-Arnold drilled in a low cross to Firmino who had time and space to control before putting the ball into the top corner.

Alexander-Arnold deservedly got his own goal in the match after providing two assists, connecting with Mane’s pass to make it 4-0 in the 78th minute.

Liverpool have now gone 13-points clear on the Premier League table with a game to play, while Leicester temporarily sit in second, pending the outcome of Man City’s fixture with Wolves.
