LG might not be something that we cover often here at Android Kenya especially since the South Korean company exited the smartphone market. However, many of us are still fans of the brand and users of its diverse consumer electronics and home appliances lineup.
More importantly for this publication, all those devices that LG sells around the world and here in Kenya, now have some sort of integration into LG’s ThinQ AI smart systems which are managed centrally through smartphone apps. Your washing machine? There’s an app for that. I often resort to the LG ThinQ app on my phone every time I misplace the remote.
Now, that LG that you have known over the years is not going away. However, that LG logo that you have always known? It’s gotten a refresh. It’s now flatter and has a newer shade of red, which LG is calling LG Active Red. And, there will be a lot more visibility of its ‘Life’s Good’ slogan.
“The company also designed a new typeface for its Life’s Good brand slogan, which will be used more widely as a brand asset in product packaging. Cleverly integrated into the typeface are shapes inspired by various LG products,” a statement from the company reads.
The new look is supposed to be “more dynamic and youthful”.
“The newly established brand direction includes a revamp of LG’s visual identity, reinterpreting the existing warmth and sense of togetherness of the brand. The company aims to boost interaction with more customers through a new visual identity that adds vitality and interactive elements while putting a new spin on the existing brand image.”
