Luanda traders head to polls – Weekly Citizen

Luanda traders have asked county government of Vihiga officers to stop interfering with the traders elections.

Traders who are expected to elect their officials on January 8 decried that there are a section of county staff from the department of trade who want to influence and interfere with the imminent elections.

It is said the influence of trade officers in the coming trader’s elections has spread seeds of discord among aspirants to the extent of some threatening one another.

The recent incident where the current chairman threatened to stab one Komba at the market has angered traders.

Komba has since reported the incident at Luanda Police Station.

Those contesting for chairman position are John Mukuna alias Mwendapole, Donald Ondele and Zadock Soja.

The position of vice-chairman has attracted Peter Amukoa, Joan Okwayo, Cornelius Amuko and Ruth Okwemba alia Chokora.

Those eyeing the secretary position are Festo Okubasu, Raphael Liboywa and Daniel Amukhuma.

For vice secretary position are Mathayo Ananda, Festus Amaune and Geoffrey Otieno.

Those salivating for the position of the treasurer position are Gerisom Aseka, Titus Luseno of Tito Star Photo Lab Luanda, Ruth Kalambili and Josephine Sai
