National ladies volleyball team Malkia Strikers registered its fourth consecutive loss in the ongoing World championship in Japan, after going down by three straight sets to Dominican Republic who advanced to the second round of the event.

Malkia Strikers under the tutelage of Japheth Munala needed a win to boost their morale in the World championship after losing by 3-0 sets to Serbia and Puerto Rico, respectively.

Dominican Republic claimed three straights sets win of 25-5, 25-7 and 25-15 to advance to the second round of the event.

Leonida Kasaya and Sharon Chepchumba scored five points apiece for Kenya in the loss.

Meanwhile, the 10th edition of Ndalat Gaa cross country was officially unveiled Thursday in Nairobi City.

The championship which is held in memory of the late former Athletics Kenya chairman, Isaiah Kiplagat, will be held next weekend in Nandi County.

Notable athletes who are likely to feature in the championship this year are: defending champion Noah Kipkorir and Sandra Cherono.

Kipkorir won the men previous edition after timing 31mins 05.6 seconds Sandra Cherono clocked 28mins 07.6 secs to clinch the ladies title.
