NAIROBI, Kenya, Feb 8 – Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano was left red faced on Wednesday afternoon, lamenting refereeing decisions as his side slumped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of record champions Gr Mahia.
Sidney Ochieng scored the opener for Gor off a contentious drop ball, and Gor were given a penalty six minutes to time, which they scored to win, another decision that was contested.
“We lost yes, but not because we played badly, but because the referee decided we lose. I don’t like talking about referees, but what we saw today was unacceptable. The decisions he made were questionable. It is heartbreaking to work the whole week and then come to lose because of poor officiating,” Matano said.
