NAIROBI, Kenya Jul 15 – A Nairobi Court has banned the media from covering and reporting the proceedings on the child support lawsuit where Journalist Anne Kiguta had sued retired president Uhuru Kenyatta’s personal secretary Jomo Gecaga seeking Sh2.7 million monthly support.

The case slated for mentioning on August 10 this year with the Kiguta and Gecaga required to file affidavits within 14 days.

In the meantime, they both have been directed to have shared custody of the children during the school holidays by agreeing on the modalities.

“The media shall not cover and report on the proceedings,” stated the court order.

In the court papers where Kiguta had filed a lawsuit with Paul Wanyama she wants Gecaga to deposit a sum of Sh413 million as maintenance costs to cater for the monthly and occasional expenditure of his three children with her until they turn 18 years.

According to court documents, Gecaga met Kiguta in 2015 when she was a prime-time TV star.

She had another daughter from a previous relationship who Gecaga had no problem providing for and together they had twins.

Gecaga moved Kiguta to a stately home in Runda where the rent was a staggering Sh555,000 monthly.

“It was situated on half an acre piece of land, in a gated community in one of the United Nations diplomatic zones. The house was in a very secure area since it shared a compound with an embassy,” read the court documents.
