There was a craze for a black 007 character but it seems the stars had something else in store. We are not only getting a black character as the weapon shielding 007 but it will be a woman. Lashana Lynch will be playing the role of 007 after the retirement of Daniel Craig at the end of Spectre.

The new movie is said to show Daniel Craig’s character living a luxurious life in Jamaica. But, an insider told Refinery 29, “at the start of the film where M says, ‘Come in 007’, in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman.”
With Bond in retirement, the agency will pass on his codename to another agent, Lashana.
Reports are yet to state what her actual name in the movie will be, but as for now netizens are referring to her as Lashana 007. Bond will remain Bond, but is no longer an agent of the MI6.
Lashana is not new to the Hollywood scene. In 2019, the 31 year old British actress she played fighter pilot Maria Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Captain Marvel, replacing DeWanda Wise.
In 2016, she was cast as the leading character Rosaline Capulet in the American period drama series Still Star-Crossed produced by Shonda Rhimes.
The casting of Lashana Lynch as the first female 007 is the latest evidence that Bond 25 will be a much more inclusive installment than its predecessors. In light of being more female inclusive, feminist TV writer and actor Phoebe Waller-Bridge was hired to write the script for the film.
The Bond 25 film is being directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective), and is expected to hit theaters on April 8, 2020.
