A man on Wednesday night reportedly killed his 40-year-old brother following a disagreement in Masaba area, Migori County.
Confirming the incident, Migori County Police Commander Joseph Nthenge said the cause of the fight which ensued between the two brothers which led to the death is yet to be established.
Mr. Nthenge said preliminary investigations established that the suspect, identified as Nyakemwa Wanjogu, hit his brother, Nyambuch Chana, on the head several times with a jembe.
The county police chief added that Mr. Chana was then rushed to Kehancha Hospital by neighbours where he succumbed to his injuries at around 1a.m.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to Migori Level Four Hospital mortuary.
Police in the region are presently pursuing the suspect who is reported to have fled after the incident.
