The perennial water challenges that have faced residents of Mbeere South Constituency are set to ease with the planned roll out of a water project that will benefit residents from both Embu and Kirinyaga counties.
The project dubbed five hill-ward water solution is a partnership between area MP Geoffrey King’ang’i, Kirinyaga and Embu County Governments, Kirinyaga Water and Sanitation Company, Embu Water and Sanitation
Water shortage within Mbeere South Constituency has been a common problem with residents being forced to walk for long distances to access water from river Tana and river Thimba.
King’ang’i said together with Kirinyaga and Embu County Government, as well as the other institutions, they will spearhead the water project expected to serve the Eastern Region.

The project will see water tanks and pumps installed on Kiambeere, Kamaagu, Kianjiru, Ndune and Kilia hills.
Residents of Mbeere South have lauded the initiative saying it will go a long way in addressing the problem of water shortage in the region.
