Prime cabinet secretary Musalia Mudavadi has fallen out with former Sabatia MP Alfred Agoi over emerging political differences.
According to sources, Mudavadi who resigned as ANC party leader after landing in the cabinet feels Agoi has been misleading him on issues relating to Vihiga county politics that eventually saw ANC perform poorly most recently in Mudavadi’s own Sabatia constituency where UDA won the seat.
Agoi was against Clement Sloya flying ANC ticket favouring a weak candidate. Sloya was denied the ANC ticket and sought refuge in UDA and won Sabatia MP seat Due to ANC poor delivery for president William Ruto in Vihiga, the party has not been able to bargain well in power sharing positions in Kenya Kwanza.
Agoi ran for Vihiga governor race and lost coming a distant fourth, a move that shocked Mudavadi.
In fact it is said that the current ANC woman representative Beatrice Adagala was lucky to survive after her main opponent on UDA ticket Jackline Mwenesi was forced to step down.
Mudavadi is said to be avoiding Agoi of late as the former MP lobbies to land a government position.
ANC supporters are bitter with current political appointments in the Kenya Kwanza government as they are being sidelined.
ANC secretary general Simon Gikuru is being blamed for signing Kenya Kwanza agreement without lobbying for any position for himself.
Gikuru was fronted by Agoi and chairman Kevin Lunani.
Lunani just like Agoi and Gikuru, have been left out of state appointments.
Also blaming Mudavadi for ignoring them are former Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala and nominated senator Petronilla Were.
Director of political affairs Kennedy Omulo, Charles Matoke, Kennedy Kubasu and captain Yare are crying foul.
ANC Busia governor aspirant Sakwa Bunyasi and Godfrey Kanoti are still lobbying for slots.
K a n o t i ’ s tribulations are worsened by the fact that he used to boast that he was the custodian of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance certificate and that he would a u t o m a t i c a l l y land a plum slot in government.
Those who have benefitted so far, include Harriet Chigai, appointed as presidential adviser on women’s issues.
She is said to be close to Mudavadi’s wife Tessie. Beatrice Inyangala was named to the principal secretary position.
ANC and Ford Kenya of Moses Wetang’ula were to deliver over 70pc of Western Kenya votes to the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Wetang’ula delivered the Bungoma county vote, Mudavadi’s ANC was trounced by Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement in Vihiga county.
Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja has named Brian Mulama the ANC Nairobi county chairman to a county executive committee position.
