Mukuru Kwa Njenga residents have urged the government to close down gas depots in the residential areas.
The resident’s demands has been trigger by recent gas explosion at a food kiosk that left three people seriously injured and 15 with minor injuries.
The area Chief Samuel Ndirangu confirmed that the casualties of evening incident on Monday, including an infant, were taken to rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital further treatment.
Among the injured include kiosk workers and clienteles who visited the eatery at about evening.
The administrator said the incident happened at around 4pm at chapo dondo base and left the clienteles of the eatery including passers-by injured.
He further dismissed arson and subsequent death allegations.
“Preliminary investigations by the police confirmed that the explosion was not an act of arson, the incident is on police records,” said Ndirangu.
Incidents of inferno have been hitting news headlines in informal settlements with congestions impeding the fire fighters navigation of the densely populated areas.
