When it comes to cleaning, most of us would prefer to avoid it at all costs – especially when we have to tackle something as disgusting as the oven.

If you don’t clean it as you go, the grime and dirt builds up pretty easily, which leads to a lot of hard work later on.
Whilst there are a tonne of products and methods online that promise to give you a gleaming oven – like The Pink Stuff Cleaning Paste that Mrs Hinch raves about or baking soda and vinegar – this one is new to us.
A savvy mum has revealed just how easy it is to clean your oven without having to spend – what feels like – hours scrubbing it – and all you need is tin foil and a dishwasher tablet.
She shared the video to TikTok and avid cleaners praised her for her ‘life-changing’ hack.
The woman starts by removing the trays from the oven, and then covers them completely in kitchen foil.
She then pops them into the bath, before filling it with hot water – just enough to submerge the trays.
Finally, she puts a dishwasher tablet into the bath with the pans and leaves them to soak for two hours.

Then you wait.
After two hours remove the foil and you’ll be blow away. The once greasy and grotty pans, look brand new.
It might seem like magic but the secret is that a chemical reaction occurs between the foil and the tablets which breaks down all of the dirt.
Now you’ll never have to scrub your oven again – genius.
And many others thought so too as they praised the woman for sharing the idea.
One said: “Thank you! This is going to be life changing in my house!”
Another person in the comments said: “You forgot to add: place the aluminium foil shiny side down onto the metal, that’ the surface that attracts the dirt.”

A third revealed: “This is how I have been doing my trays for years. Works every time.”
And: “Thank you!!! It worked. Oven looks brand new.”
But a few people were quick to point out that after doing this hack you’d need to clean the bath out to rid it of any leftover grime, but the woman explained that it actually stays inside the foil.
