Residents of Murang’a county have demanded immediate ban by government of all countrywide activities undertaken by the two Jubilee ruling party groups (Kieleweke) and (Tanga Tanga) for the sake of peace in the country achieved since the March 9 2018 handshake.

Kiharu MP, Ndindi Nyoro

The residents’ demand follows the shameful and archaic brawl that pitted Kieleweke nominated MP Maina Kamanda and Tanga Tanga MP Ndindi Nyoro of Kiharu during a church service in the area two weeks ago that posed a threat to peace for all in attendance.
Speaking at the county headquarters recently, all seem to have one agenda on their cards that revolve around accusations of assault and throwing barbs at their opponents mostly over nothing.

Kamanda

Through their representatives Mary Waithera and Veronicah Nyokabi, the residents told off the groups’ political members baying for their opponents blood adding that their persistent quarrels and sideshows in public forums are a waste of citizens time and demanded that they give them a break to engage in their social and economic pursuits.
At the same time, the residents chided the church’s management for accepting the political class to grace their activities where they use the sacred places as platforms to spew hate at each other and undiluted venom directed at their opponents in full glare of the media adding that it portended danger and urged the top leadership of the church to bring to an end the vice.
They further condemned the political leadership for addressing the president on challenges facing the country through childish behaviour on their part.
They were in agreement that politicians’ conduct has confirmed that they are either hypocrites with no regard to Kenyans generally.
They reminded Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto that if left unchecked, both teams within the ruling party had the potential to create a toxic environment that would halt
