
NAIROBI, Kenya Feb 4 – President William Ruto has appointed former Chief of Defence Forces Samsom Mwathethe to be the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Forestry Research Institute.
A Gazette Notice dated February 3, 2023, contains Mwathethe’s appointment along with appointments for other boards and state corporations
In a Gazette Notice dated February 3, 2022, the Head of State noted that Mwathathe will serve for a period of three years.
The Head of State subsequently revoked the appointment of John Waithaka.
In the other appointments, President Ruto also appointed Jane Lagat to be Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board, for a period of three years.
The President revoked the appointment of Wanjiku Kabira.
President Ruto further appointed Aden Noor Ali to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National Transport and Safety Authority, for a period of three years. He revoked the appointment of Agnes N. Odhiambo.
In the other appointments: Mzee Mwinyi Mzee was appointed Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority, for a period of three years. He revoked the appointment of Philip Charo.
The President additionally appointed five individuals to serve as members of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, for a period of three years. He revoked the appointment of Dennis Awori.
The new appointees’ tenure in office accordingly begins on February 3, 2023.
